Jason Knauf, who used to work for Prince William and Kate Middleton, talked about his time with the Royal Family in a new interview. He shared details about how William and Kate handled Kate’s cancer diagnosis and gave his thoughts on what kind of king William will be in the future.
Knauf explained that William and Kate didn’t announce Kate’s illness right away because they hadn’t told their children yet. They wanted to take their time and make sure George, Charlotte, and Louis understood before telling the public. Eventually, in March 2024, Kate shared the news herself and explained that she was receiving treatment.
Knauf said that hearing about Kate’s cancer was one of the hardest moments for Prince William. He looked the saddest Knauf had ever seen him. It was even more difficult because, at the same time, King Charles III was also diagnosed with cancer.
During the months that Kate stayed out of the public eye, many wild rumors spread online about her absence. Knauf said that the false stories made things even more stressful for the family.
Looking to the future, Knauf talked about William’s role as the next king. He said William wants to keep royal traditions but also make changes to fit modern times. He added that William is exactly as he seems—honest, hardworking, and ready for the big responsibility of being king one day.
