Pop star Justin Timberlake is “heartbroken” after canceling a concert moments prior to getting onstage via Yahoo.
The 44-year-old “Mirrors” artist was scheduled to perform at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, on Thursday, February 27th, as part of his ongoing Forget Tomorrow World Tour. However, moments before the show was supposed to start, Timberlake shared the difficult news that he had to cancel the evening’s appearance.
“You guys. I’m heartbroken,” the *NSYNC member began in a short text post shared to both his Facebook and Instagram pages. “I have to cancel the show tonight.”
Timberlake noted that he had been sick earlier in the day and he was hoping that he would be able to stick it out for the show, since according to his tour website, tonight’s performance would have been his last U.S. date before taking a break and jetting off to the start the South American leg of his tour. Unfortunately, that’s not what happened.
“I went into soundcheck battling the flu and now it’s gotten the best of me,” he wrote.
“It kills me to disappoint you and my team who worked so hard to make this show happen.”
The “Suit & Tie” artist continued and reassuring fans that everyone would be “getting refunds” for their tickets.
“I love you all,” the Grammy winner concluded.
This is the second interruption to this specific tour stop, which was initially scheduled for October last year. However, it was postponed, along with several other shows, when Timberlake fell ill this past fall.
Nationwide Arena re-posted Timberlake’s message to its official social media pages on Thursday evening but did not offer any further information on when exactly ticketholders could expect a refund.
Timberlake’s next concert is at the Lollapalooza Music Festival in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on March 31st.
