‘Now and Then’ is making waves with its lyrics and presentation. While many enjoy the music, there are some who are trying to link it up whether Lennon wrote the lyrics for Yoko Ono or Paul McCartney.
A user noted on X (formerly Twitter) based on a theory about the track presented by director Peter Jackson, writing, “Also of note, Jackson theorizes ‘N&T’ started as a song for Yoko (and presents evidence from ‘The Lost Weekend’) and later morphed to be about the Beatles. He asked Paul point blank if the song was about him, and he said he thought it was about Yoko.”
Sean Ono Lennon had to step up to the situation and he talked about this on X. According to Rock Celebrities, Sean wrote, “If you listen to my dad speak about lyrics, it’s clear he never felt any song was necessarily about one thing. Songs are not essays. Poetry is not journalism. Art is like life—-multilayered and elusive.”
John had previously spoken about this in his 1971 interview to Rolling Stone, when he was writing for ‘John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band.’ John had said that he didn’t understand what he was writing, but would understand it afterwards.
It’s clear that he considered it as an abstract art, and had said,“I don’t know about anything else, really, and the few true songs I ever wrote were like ‘Help’ and ‘Strawberry Fields.’ I can’t think of them all offhand. They were the ones I always considered my best songs. They were the ones I really wrote from experience and not projecting myself into a situation and writing a nice story about it. I always found that phony, but I’d find occasion to do it because I’d be so hung up, I couldn’t even think about myself.”
Jackson's comment confirmed there was a master, and no longer a "for Paul" taped to the original. That's all. The mystery he did solve is how Lennon's voice sounds so much better than on the demo we've heard. That was great information!

It’s worth noting that The Beatles’ ‘Now and Then’ is making waves in the world and fans are loving this music. The fans are not going into any theories or conspiracy aspects because all that matters to them is the music and that is of extreme importance at the end of the day. Fans of John Lennon or The Beatles are interested in the music more than anything happening around them.
