Zuk believes that Lennon, who was tragically shot in 1980, may have fathered more children, as women were often attracted to him during the height of Beatlemania, a time when contraception wasn’t widely used.
The tooth, which was originally thought to be a baby tooth from Lennon’s son Julian, turned out to be a molar from Lennon himself. Zuk ground down the tooth to extract DNA, which he plans to use to test for possible offspring. Zuk is determined to uncover any children Lennon might have had apart from his confirmed sons, Julian and Sean.
Dr. Zuk believes Lennon’s fame with women might have led to unacknowledged children, pointing to rumors in books about “hush money” being paid to silenced mothers.
