The James Bond franchise has been pivotal in film for years and is a series that is loved heavily by many die hard fans.
One of the hottest debates via the franchise is who will be the next 007, James Bond. In debates over the last few months, one of the highest voted actors to be the next James Bond was Idris Elba. Who, would make an amazing James Bond. On the flip side, others have been named as well.
Upon the list and asks from the fans of the series, it should be noted that some discussion was had about having an actress or a group of actresses could take the reigns of the 007 series.
As opposed to who 007 will be, we have to also look at who the new director will be. It was said via Fandom Wire, that Denis Villeneuve may be the one to get behind the camera.
Denis has always been a fan of the franchise and should fit relatively well. I feel that Idris should still see himself in the position of 007.
Over the years, Villeneuve has made his mark in Hollywood with high-profile films like the recent Dune (2021). It grossed $402 million on a budget of $165 million. But the director has a lot on his plate since he’s now busy with Dune: Part 2 and more. This leaves room for Denis to have time to film a new 007 film.
However, Villeneuve stated that it would be difficult to replace Daniel Craig as he said: “It would be a big challenge for people to try and reboot it after what Daniel did. What Daniel Craig brought to Bond was so unique and strong and probably unmatchable. He’s the ultimate James Bond.”
Christopher Nolan was also once in talks to direct a James Bond film. But the site stated that the Tenet director isn’t ready to helm a 007 project since he’s busy with other projects. Official sources haven’t confirmed yet if Denis Villeneuve has indeed come on board to direct the next Bond film. It remains to be seen if this scoop turns out to be true or not.
