Travis Kelce shared that his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, has been supporting him in his NFL career and encouraging him to keep playing as he nears the end of his 12th season with the Kansas City Chiefs. Kelce, 35, mentioned this during an appearance on “The Stephen A. Smith Show,” where he talked about how Swift enjoys attending his games and cheering for him at Arrowhead Stadium. Swift even skipped Kelce’s game following her after-party.
Kelce said, “She’s fully encouraging me to enjoy playing this game,” adding that Swift has been to 13 of his games during the 2023 season. She’s become a regular at his games, often attending with family and friends. Kelce also mentioned how he feels supported in his career, saying, “I got all the support in the world to keep chasing these dreams.”
As Kelce approaches retirement, he admitted that his views on stopping change daily. He loves playing football but said he’s not seeing as much success on the field as he would like. Kelce explained, “At the end of the day, I’m not having that extreme success on the field,” but he’s still excited about finishing the season strong and will reassess his future after the season ends.
He also made it clear that he wouldn’t continue if he felt he was no longer helping his team win, saying, “I never want to get to the point where I’m not helping this team win or I’m hurting this team.” Kelce added that as long as he’s playing good football, fans can expect to see him in a Chiefs uniform next season.
Despite some struggles in his stats, Kelce has caught three touchdowns this season and is part of a Chiefs team that has a strong 15-2 record. The Chiefs are aiming for a third straight Super Bowl win, and they will face the Houston Texans in the playoffs on Saturday. Swift, meanwhile, is enjoying some time off after completing her sold-out Eras Tour in December.
