Madonna recently expressed her desire to collaborate with Britney Spears once again. The suggestion of working with Spears was brought up in a YouTube video Madonna posted on her official channel in which she answered questions submitted by fans.
Madonna wants to collaborate with Britney Spears
The two stars previously collaborated on the 2003 hit “Me Against the Music,” not to mention a performance that same year at the MTV Video Music Awards (with Christina Aguilera) where they shared lyrics and a now-famous kiss.
It was noted that Madonna fielded 50 questions during the six-minute video on a range of topics, including her influences. Madonna recorded the video as a promotion for Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones. Released last month, the album is a collection of remixes that celebrates her having 50 number one songs on the U.S. Billboard Dance Club Songs chart.
During the session, one of the fans submitted question asked: “Can we ever expect another collaboration with Britney?”
“I am gagging to work with Britney again!” Madonna said.
She also said in the video that she would “love to collaborate with Kendrick Lamar.”
Britney Spears and Elton John recently collaborated to release a song which is titled as “Hold Me Closer.” Ed Sheeran had also reacted to the song. It is believed that the “Hold Me Closer” song is “refashioning” of John’s 1971 hit song “Tiny Dancer” which was leaked on social media prior to release and it gathered different reactions from fans as stated by Metro.
Britney fans noted that the leaking of the song incident was “disrespectful.” One fan expressed anger to the incident saying it is ruining the release of the first solo of Spears as “free” woman after the conservatorship battle.
