British actor Nick Moran, known for playing Scabior in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery after suffering from a life-threatening condition. A photo shared (and later deleted) by his friend Terry Stone showed Moran in intensive care. Stone wrote:
“Nick was rushed into hospital this week for a life-saving operation. It’s so serious that he might not be able to walk or talk again.”
Later, Stone gave an update:
“Nick had major surgery and is now recovering in the ICU. He gave us a thumbs up, but he still needs everyone’s prayers and support.”
Stone also mentioned they had recorded a great podcast together a few months ago and promised to share any new updates during a live chat on Sunday.
Stone told the Daily Mail that Moran first felt pain in his neck, but didn’t take it seriously. His girlfriend urged him to get it checked out. At first, Moran thought he could treat it with something like Deep Heat, but after seeing a doctor, he was quickly sent to the emergency room and told he needed urgent surgery to save his life. Thankfully, Moran is now recovering at home.
Besides Harry Potter, Moran is known for Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Another Life, The Musketeer, Nemesis, Boogie Man, and New Blood. He grew up in East London and had his breakout role in the 1990 film Buddy’s Song.
