If you thought that the world of Harry Potter was long done, think again. Apparently, several films, theme parks and studio tours are not enough for the young boy who bares an uncanny resemblance to John Lennon of the Beatles. Does this mean Harry will don his cape and appear in yet another series of Harry Potter films in the near future?
According to a report published by MovieWeb, a statement has been made by Warner Bros.
“Take Harry Potter as an example, the Wizarding World, the fact that we are enjoying this massive success with the Hogwarts Legacy launch, 12 years after the last film came out, shows that there is so much opportunity and we’re only just starting to expand that. We’ve got the new Harry Potter tour coming up in Tokyo in the middle of the year. Long story short, I think this one-company approach, great leadership in the individual business units, but coordinated franchise management is probably one of the biggest opportunities the company has.”
Based on the novels written by British author, J.K. Rowling, the Harry Potter movie series began in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (or Sorcerer’s Stone, if you prefer) in 2001. Lasting a total of eight movies, the series came to an end in the year of our Lord 2011 with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2. The series did well to grow and mature with its target audience, and was met with critical acclaim, major success at the box office, and was nominated for a total of 12 Academy Awards.
