Gorillaz member Damon Albarn from performed “Tormenta” featuring Bad Bunny on Friday night at the 2023 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. The beautiful performance, which included his official visualizer of the song, became an instant classic. Even though Bad Bunny did not perform live with Albarn, his vocals were on playback while the Gorillaz creator played the keyboard, making for a great mixture of raw, yet crisp.
Here is what Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn said prior to closing out the band’s Friday night set at Coachella:
“I’m sorry, but weekend two is better than weekend one.”
He wasn’t kidding, as over the course of the hour-plus performance Gorillaz were joined by a star-studded ensemble. Following their late-night performance on Kimmel, Beck teamed up with Gorillaz on “The Valley of the Pagans.” Other collaborators included Yasiin Bey (“Sweepstakes”), Little Simz (“Garage Palace”), Del the Funky Homosapien (“Rock the House,” “Clint Eastwood”), and De La Soul (“Feel Good Inc.”), who were in all honesty the top 5 guests.

Meanwhile, later that night, Bad Bunny made history as the first Latino artist to headline at the iconic music festival. Bad Bunny was the main draw of the evening and even had an “activation” featuring Adidas, who just launched his sneaker. The reggaeton artist recently made headlines for throwing a shot at NBA star Devin Booker in a song. Bad Bunny reportedly wanted to take things to the next level with Kendall Jenner, but the song might have ruined his chances.
