Gorillaz are in the middle of their first North American tour since 2018. The band has performed well and offers a better effective solution to music lovers. During their show in Los Angeles on Friday night (Sept. 23), Damon Albarn’s virtual band which is always ready for collaboration had some guests on the list. According to a Rollins Stone report, Beck, Tame Impala, Schoolboy Q, Thundercat, Del the Funky Homosapien, De La Soul and Bootie Brown all joined Gorillaz at the KIA Forum in Los Angeles.
Beck performed “The Valley of the Pagans” from 2020’s Season One: Strange Timez and then returned for the world premiere of “Possession Island,” from Gorillaz’ star-studded upcoming album Cracker Island. Cracker Island is slated for a Feb. 23, 2023 release.
The guests didn’t come alone and for no reason. They went ahead and gave the fans something to remember for the rest of their lives. Schoolboy Q guested on the first live performance of “Pac Man” from Song Machine and Thundercat assisted on “Cracker Island.” What followed was The Pharcyde’s Bootie Brown helped out on a few tracks, including “Dirty Harry,” “Stylo,” and “New Gold,” the latter with an assist from Tame Impala.
De La Soul came out for the classic “Feel Good Inc.,” and Del the Funky Homosapien helped out during the encore on “Rock the House” and “Clint Eastwood.” These moments were captured on video and the fans’ excitement during these moments confirms that everyone had a gala time enjoying the work of so many talented superstars in one place.
