Fatboy Slim, also known as Norman Cook, criticized Oasis for using dynamic pricing for their reunion tour tickets. Dynamic pricing changes ticket prices based on demand, and Cook said it’s unfair to fans. He admitted scalpers are a problem but argued that artists using this system are taking advantage of their supporters.Oasis shows in new countries were also teased recently.
Cook explained to The Sun that he doesn’t use dynamic pricing for his shows because he wants tickets to stay affordable. He said ticket prices are already expensive and shouldn’t be made worse, calling the practice greedy.
‘It is bad enough with the touts doing it, but the actual promoter and band doing it, it is sick.’
‘I am sure there is a moment when you think, “Let’s bury the hatchet and get some of that old magic back”.
‘Financially, for a lot of people, if they run out of money, I can see why they would do that.’
Oasis recently faced complaints after ticket prices for their 2025 reunion tour increased sharply. Standing tickets, originally priced at £150, went up to £355 in just a few hours due to high demand. Some fans were also upset when tickets they purchased were canceled for breaking terms and conditions.
The tour’s promoters said they would cancel tickets being resold improperly and warned fans not to buy from unofficial sites. Despite efforts to stop scalping, many tickets appeared on resale sites at much higher prices, with some standing tickets selling for over £1,000 and VIP passes reaching £2,600. Even with these issues, fans remain excited to see Oasis back together after 15 years.
