Diddy has officially been moved from the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center to the Federal Correctional Institution at Fort Dix in New Jersey.
The transfer took place in late October after his legal team requested that he be placed in a facility with more access to rehabilitation programs and opportunities for visitation. Diddy had spent roughly a year in the Brooklyn facility, where conditions were reportedly strict and heavily monitored.
FCI Fort Dix is a low-security prison, and the environment is considered less restrictive compared to the Brooklyn detention center. The facility offers inmates access to educational courses, fitness areas, television rooms, and the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ Residential Drug Abuse Program. Experts who have served time in the system note that daily life at Fort Dix is generally more routine and less intense than at MDC Brooklyn.
Diddy is expected to serve the remainder of his 50-month sentence at Fort Dix after being convicted on charges related to transporting individuals for prostitution. He is currently projected to be released in May 2028. Reports also indicate that Diddy has already interacted with fellow inmates, including former NBA player Sebastian Telfair, who is serving time for defrauding the league’s healthcare plan.
