Sean “Diddy” Combs is reportedly hoping that his longtime friendship with Donald Trump might help him avoid a long prison sentence. He’s currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn after facing serious charges like racketeering, fraud, sex trafficking, and transporting people for prostitution.
Sources told Hollywood insider Rob Shuter that Diddy is counting on Trump to help him. “Donald was always invited to Diddy’s famous parties,” one insider said. “They’ve known each other for years, and Diddy admired Trump’s flashy style. He even built part of his brand around that energy.”
Diddy believes Trump “owes him” and hopes their relationship will keep him out of prison. An old clip from The Apprentice shows Trump speaking highly of Diddy, calling him a “good guy” when former Danity Kane singer Aubrey O’Day brought up working for him.
However, people online had mixed reactions to the old video, with some criticizing Trump’s judgment.
O’Day also recently claimed Diddy offered her money to stay quiet about his behavior, saying in a documentary that he wanted her to never speak negatively about anyone. “That’s when I realized something really bad is coming,” she said.
Diddy has been denied bail three times, and his trial is set to begin in May. In the meantime, he’s facing more serious accusations, including forcing people into sex acts between 2021 and 2024.
His lawyers continue to deny the claims, arguing that the relationships described were consensual and not abusive. They also said the latest allegations come from the same women he had past relationships with.
The situation started with a lawsuit filed by Diddy’s ex, Cassie Ventura, in which she accused him of years of physical and sexual abuse.
