A fan asked KK Priest’s members if they might hire David Ellefson after his firing from Megadeth.
A fan asked Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens, “Hey guys, #DavidEllefson Dave is available again!! Let’s rock mf!!!” In response, Owens said, “We have a bass player, His name is Tony.”
Ellefson played a show of Judas Priest hits with Owens, KK Downing, and ex-Judas Priest drummer Les Binks in November 2019 in Wolverhampton, United Kingdom, but didn’t join KK Priest when it formed due to his Megadeth commitments. Megadeth fired Ellefson a couple of days ago after accusations of sexual misconduct.
dean-zero posted on Megadeth’s Reddit, “You hit the nail on the head. Mustaine was going to look bad no matter what decision he came up with. And that is exactly why he chose to not be with Ellefson anymore. The fact that he put the band in such a tough spot that Megadeth was damned if they did and damned if they didn’t is proof enough that the relationship was never going to recover.”
bggszy added, “Agreed. This was the best PR and moral move (I know some don’t care about that shit and just want the music, but in these days image matters)
If they would’ve turned an eye to it and kept him in the band it wouldn’t sit well with the public.
Lose-lose, like you said.”
