From the LOL-Files: British Prime Minister David Cameron rang in the new year at eternally-cool Blur bassist Alex James‘ Oxfordshire farm. The pair were spotted ‘dad dancing’ and ‘sipping on red wine’ at James’ ‘old school disco-style’ party held at his Oxfordshire farm. While Cameron did attend the bash with his wife Samantha, he spent much of the time with the reigning King of Cheese.
An eyewitness told the Sun, ‘Alex kept trying to get [Cameron] to sing karaoke and looked like he was almost persuaded, but that was the point he realized it was probably time to go home.’ Too bad; he could have done his best Damon Albarn impression on ‘Country House.’
‘David and Samantha looked to be having a fun time. Although his security was with him to make sure none of the 200 guests got any pictures, it was definitely an off-duty night for the PM. He seemed to be sipping on red wine throughout the night, although [he] wasn’t drunk – which makes his dad dancing even less excusable.’
Meanwhile, Samantha was the life of the party. ‘It looked like she was playing a leg as a guitar at one point,’ the eyewitness said. She could have given Graham Coxon a run for his money.
Former champagne, caviar, and girls-enthusiast, Alex James now spends much of his time working on his Oxfordshire farm, where he runs a successful cheese business. This was not Cameron’s first visit to the farm. Previously he attended James’ 2011 Harvest cheese festival, along with Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson and former News International executive Rebekah Brooks.
