Coldplay’s Chris Martin was seen in New York City with his son Moses, who is 18 years old and resembles him closely. They enjoyed some time together as Moses recently began his studies at Brown University. This outing comes after reports of Chris’s split from his long-term partner, Dakota Johnson and Coldplay even donated 10% of their 2025 tour profits.
In other news, Coldplay took a break from their big world tour to play a special concert at the Music Hall of Williamsburg on Monday for about 600 fans. One notable guest was Warner Bros. Discovery chief David Zaslav, who got VIP treatment and received a free T-shirt, along with other concert goodies like a lanyard and poster.
The concert was hosted by SiriusXM and started just after 5 p.m. It was also broadcast on Coldplay Radio and Alt Nation at 6:30 p.m. Lead singer Chris Martin joked with the crowd, saying he didn’t feel the need to thank them too much since it was a Monday afternoon, unlike the usual Saturday night crowds.
Martin mentioned that getting the band to play before 9 p.m. is a challenge because of their busy schedule. They had to start early since they were scheduled to be on the “Today” show the next morning.
The concert began with “Moon Music” from their new album, followed by “God Put a Smile Upon Your Face” from 2002. Coldplay also invited guests Elyanna and TINI to join them for their new song “We Pray.” Martin noted that while fans might not enjoy hearing new songs, every hit was once new, and even songs that aren’t popular can become classics over time.
During the show, Martin played piano for the first live performance of “The Karate Kid,” which mentions Daniel LaRusso. He even brought a fan onstage to dance during “Something Just Like This,” which turned into an EDM jam. Throughout the hour-long concert, Martin connected with the audience and thanked them for their support.
Before playing the 10-minute song “Coloratura” from their 2021 album, he humorously told anyone who might be bored that they could take a bathroom break, promising they would play “Yellow” next as a special treat.
