Britney Spears Lawyers Warn Ex-Bodyguard Over iCloud
Britney Spears’ legal team has sent a cease-and-desist letter to her former bodyguard, alleging he accessed her personal devices and Apple iCloud account without permission. The claim adds a fresh legal dispute for the pop star as she remains in the spotlight following her recent DUI arrest.
In its report, CinemaBlend said the letter was sent to Mr Thomas Bunbury and cited information attributed to TMZ, which claimed to have seen the document alleging unauthorised access to Spears’ accounts and devices.
According to the report, the letter was sent last month and alleged Mr Bunbury violated multiple laws by “hacking into” Spears’ devices, with her lawyers demanding he be removed from any accounts and disclose whether any copies of information were made. CinemaBlend also reported that Mr Bunbury was fired in August after allegedly breaking a non-disclosure agreement, and that TMZ said it contacted him for comment but did not receive a response.
The dispute comes as Spears also faces ongoing attention over her driving-related arrest, with her court timetable following the DUI arrest already drawing intense public interest.
No further details about potential next legal steps were included in the report, but the cease-and-desist signals her team is seeking to secure her personal accounts and clarify what access, if any, her former employee retains.
