Blur and Oasis had an epic rivalry in 90s. However, Graham Coxon still supported the latter band’s reunion during a recent interview.
Graham Coxon opens up on Oasis reunion
Speaking with The Sun, he said:
“It’s good for them and it’s good for fans. I’ve been saying, ‘Just do it,’” he said. Though he approved their comeback, the guitarist also made it clear that he had no involvement in making it happen.
When sked if he urged Noel Gallagher to reunite with his brother and bandmate Liam, Coxon added:
“God no, I wouldn’t have talked to him about that, and it’s not really my business. I don’t know him well enough to say that. But hopefully it’s a genuine reunion because some bands break up and don’t get that chance again.”
The Oasis reunion announcement came just ahead of the 30th anniversary of their debut album, ‘Definitely Maybe,’ in August. By late September, they announced seventeen 2025 dates in Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin. They later added more shows around the world.
The band will not headline Glastonbury 2025 or perform at any festivals during the tour. However, they will be making stops in North America and Australia until November next year. It’s still unclear who else will be joining Liam and Noel on stage. Last month, Liam hinted at some possible new faces in the lineup. When asked about it on X, he wrote, “Good question, there could be a few new faces just to freshen things up.”
Rumors suggest that Andy Bell, Gem Archer, Zak Starkey, and Paul Arthurs are some of the returning names for Oasis’ first tour since their split in 2009. But none of them are official at this point.
