Billy Ray Cyrus Misses Hannah Montana Premiere
Billy Ray Cyrus was absent from the Los Angeles premiere of the “Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary” special on Monday, even as his daughter Miley Cyrus attended the event with family members and their partners for the red-carpet celebration.
Page Six reported that a representative for Billy Ray Cyrus said he and Noah Cyrus were in Nashville on Monday recording a new single together, due for release on April 3.
Miley Cyrus posed at the premiere alongside her mother, Tish Cyrus, and her older sister Brandi, before being joined by their respective partners Maxx Morando, Dominic Purcell and Matt Southcombe, with Purcell also attending with two of his children, Joseph and Lily-Rose, according to the report.
The special marks two decades since the Disney Channel series that made Miley Cyrus a global name, with the singer’s recent comments and appearances signalling renewed interest in the franchise, including her plans to revive elements of Hannah Montana in current projects.
The “Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary” special is available to stream from Tuesday on Disney+ and Hulu, with Billy Ray Cyrus appearing in the programme despite missing the premiere event.
