There has been a lot of talk about Kamala Harris not getting support from Joe Rogan. It was previously reported that Rogan wouldn’t do an interview unless it was in Austin, Texas, and Harris’ team couldn’t make that work. But according to a new report from NBC News, Harris’ campaign made several efforts to meet with Rogan and kept changing their plans to try to connect with his audience.
In October, Harris went to Texas for a rally where Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland (who was left out of the NBC article) introduced her. The rally focused on Texas’ strict anti-abortion laws and warned the country about another Trump presidency. However, the planning for the event was messy. Beyoncé was supposed to sing the campaign’s theme song “Freedom,” but the plan kept changing. Some also questioned why Harris chose Texas since it wasn’t a key state in the 2024 election.
The main reason for Harris’ visit to Texas was to try to get on The Joe Rogan Experience, but things didn’t go as planned. Harris’ team tried to set up a meeting with Rogan on October 25th, the same day as the rally, but they were told he had the day off. Rogan instead interviewed Donald Trump. Harris’ team kept trying to meet him later, but Rogan wouldn’t leave Texas again, and the campaign couldn’t justify another trip. Unfortunately, this meant Harris missed a chance to reach Rogan’s audience. You can read more about this in the full NBC News report.
