Gloria Allred Urges Charles, William to Aid Police
King Charles and Prince William have been urged to speak with police in connection with scrutiny surrounding Prince Andrew’s alleged links to Jeffrey Epstein, as the Metropolitan Police considers widening aspects of its investigation. The call was made by US attorney Ms Gloria Allred, who has represented multiple Epstein victims, in comments reported overnight.
Ms Allred said she wanted the King and the Prince of Wales, alongside the Princess of Wales, to “speak out” about what Andrew may have told them, and Daily Mail reported that she suggested they could volunteer to be interviewed by detectives if asked.
Ms Allred told the BBC that while the Royal Family has expressed support for victims, she believed that co-operating with any police requests would be “the best way to support the victims”. She also said she hoped the family might share any information about what Sarah, Duchess of York, or Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie learned from meeting Epstein after his conviction, according to the report.
The latest pressure comes amid renewed attention on Andrew’s position within the monarchy, following King Charles saying “law must take its course” after Andrew arrest in earlier remarks carried by Britpop News.
The Daily Mail report added that the Met is poised to widen its focus to Andrew’s “inner circle of friends, advisers, associates”, and said officers have already asked his personal protection officers to consider what they may have seen or heard. Andrew has repeatedly denied wrongdoing and has not directly responded to the latest allegations.
