Adele recently talked about about her emotional encounter with Celine Dion at her Las Vegas show. On October 26, during her performance of “When We Were Young” at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace (a venue originally created for Dion), Adele spotted Dion in the audience and became tearful. Adele also revealed a shocking truth about Matthew Perry last year.
Adele later shared the moment on Instagram, saying she’s been performing at The Colosseum for nearly two years because it was built for Celine Dion, making it the only place she wanted to perform in Vegas. She mentioned that she keeps a photo of Dion next to the stage and touches it before every show, expressing how meaningful it was to have Dion surprise her in the audience.
I have been performing in Celine Dion’s room at the Colosseum for almost 2 years now. 4 weeks to go! It was the only venue I wanted to play in Vegas because it was built for her. I have a picture of her right next to the stage that I touch every night before I walk on and she came to the show this weekend and it was a surprise and it was a MOMENT!! @celinedion I love you so very very much. Words will never sum up what you mean to me, or what you coming to my show means, let alone how it felt seeing you back in your palace with your beautiful family. I have loved being there it has been such an honor and Saturday night will be something I remember forever and ever. Such a full circle moment for me to be there with you. Thank you so much ♥️
Adele’s “Weekends With Adele” residency in Vegas will conclude on November 23, after which she plans to take a break. This announcement has driven ticket prices for her final show to soar, with some tickets going for over £18,000.
Over the summer, Adele also performed a 10-show residency in Munich and praised rising artist Chappell Roan, confirmed her engagement to Rich Paul, and brought back her 2008 hit “Chasing Pavements” for the first time in years.
Meanwhile, Celine Dion made her first public performance since her 2022 diagnosis with stiff person syndrome, delivering a powerful rendition of Edith Piaf’s “L’Hymne a L’Amour” at the Paris Olympics opening ceremony in June.
