Damon Albarn is a master of collaboration, but not everything goes as planned when he enters the studio with another musician. Sometimes it’s just not a natural fit because their energies don’t mesh, and neither of the artists involved in the failed experiment is to blame.
Albarn has collaborated with everyone from The Cure’s Robert Smith to Snoop Dogg during his time with Gorillaz, Far Out Magazine reports. He has an exceptional ability to bring out the best in everyone with whom he works. However, there has been a divine lack of chemistry on occasion, and sparks haven’t flown between him and his collaborator.
One of his failed collaborations was with Adele, and the music they made together will most likely never be heard. Albarn told The Sun (via Contact Music): “Adele asked me to work with her, and I took the time out for her… And since I’m not a producer… I’m not sure what’s going on… Will she make use of anything?
No, I don’t believe so. Let us wait and see… The problem is that she is extremely insecure. And she doesn’t have to be because she’s still so young.” “I heard the work she did with my friend Brian, aka Danger Mouse,” Albarn said of her new music. It’s right in the middle.”
While Damon has tried to bury the hatchet, it looks like things are far from over. The two have not been on good terms and nothing seems to be going well for the two superstars. Do we have any way to end this ongoing controversy?
