Meghan Markle ‘Distancing Herself’ From Harry Drama
Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, is said to be increasingly focused on her business projects as reports suggest Prince Harry remains excluded from a family wedding in the UK. The claims centre on Prince Harry’s reported absence from cousin Peter Phillips’ upcoming wedding, a development that would underline how strained relations within the Royal Family remain.
Express reported that Prince Harry has not received an invitation to Peter Phillips’ wedding to NHS nurse Harriet Sperling in the Cotswolds on 6 June, where senior royals including King Charles and the Prince and Princess of Wales are expected to attend.
The report cites royal author Mr Duncan Larcombe, who suggested Prince Harry would be unlikely to attend an event where Prince William is present, describing the Prince of Wales as “absolutely still livid” with his brother. The article also quotes former BBC royal correspondent Ms Jennie Bond, who said it would be “the biggest no-no” for the Sussexes to attend because their presence would likely overshadow the couple getting married.
The commentary comes amid continued scrutiny of the Sussexes’ public profile and commercial plans, including Meghan’s efforts to build her lifestyle brand, As Ever, and a push to keep her image upbeat and aspirational. It also follows earlier Britpop News reporting that Meghan Markle reportedly rejected a UK return plan with Prince Harry as questions persisted over whether the couple would resume any regular UK presence.
Neither Buckingham Palace nor representatives for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have publicly addressed the guest list claims. If confirmed, Prince Harry’s absence would add to the sense that personal rifts are still shaping where he fits into private royal family occasions.
