Ingrid Seward Says Meghan Sent Family Message
Meghan Markle has shared previously unseen wedding photographs to mark her and Prince Harry’s eighth wedding anniversary, with royal biographer Ms Ingrid Seward suggesting the post carried a message about the couple’s place in the Royal Family.
Express reported that Ms Seward argued Meghan “doesn’t do anything without purpose” and claimed the anniversary post signalled: “We’re still very much part of your family,” noting that King Charles was the only other royal family member shown in the selection of images.
According to the report, Ms Seward said the King was “very caring” towards Meghan early on and believed drawing her closer would allow him to be “more in control of anything she might potentially do”. The piece also revisits the wedding day moment in May 2018 when the then Prince of Wales walked Meghan partway down the aisle at St George’s Chapel after Thomas Markle Sr was unable to attend.
The anniversary images included photos from the reception, a photograph of Meghan’s mother Ms Doria Ragland, and a shot of Sir Elton John at the piano; Prince William and Princess Kate did not appear. Britpop News has previously covered how Meghan Markle shared 24 unseen wedding photos for her anniversary as she marked the milestone online.
Meghan and Prince Harry stepped back from royal duties in 2020, and the Express report says Ms Seward believes the path to reconciliation remains difficult, but that maintaining a relationship with the King could be significant for the couple’s wider family ties.
