Miley Cyrus steps out in vintage Versace gown
Miley Cyrus marked a major career milestone on Friday as she was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, stepping out in a vintage Atelier Versace gown for the unveiling ceremony. The singer used her remarks to celebrate the moment and pointed to her outfit choice as part of the occasion, saying her name was now “laid in gold and pink terrazzo”.
At the event, Page Six reported that Cyrus wore a spiderweb-like sheer lace dress from Donatella Versace’s fall 2015 collection that had previously been worn by model Heidi Klum at the amfAR Gala in Milan later that same year.
Cyrus told the crowd she was wearing Versace “hand-picked from the atelier archives by Donatella herself,” adding that it made the moment “even more fun, and even more fierce and even more fabulous.” The report described the gown’s cut-outs and crisscross bodice woven with metallic threads, and noted that Cyrus styled her hair in loose waves with side-swept bangs, in contrast to Klum’s updo when she wore the look.
Cyrus was joined at the ceremony by family members and fiancé Maxx Morando, as well as actress Anya Taylor-Joy and designer Donatella Versace. The appearance came as attention around the singer’s personal life continued, with her mother recently making headlines after hinting Cyrus may have secretly married Morando.
The Walk of Fame recognition adds to a run of high-profile fashion moments for Cyrus, who has repeatedly championed vintage as a more sustainable choice. With her star now unveiled, the singer’s next public appearances are likely to keep the spotlight on both her music and her archive-led red-carpet style.
