Princess Kate’s Summer Hats Chosen for Sophisticated Style
Catherine, the Princess of Wales, has been singled out by a leading stylist for using headwear as a key part of her warm-weather wardrobe, with several of her most memorable hats cited as examples of her modern, polished approach to royal dressing.
Award-winning personal stylist Ms Susie Hasler said the Princess is “a master of modern headgear” and highlighted the oak leaf oyster percher hat Kate wore to the Easter Sunday service at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, Hello Magazine reported.
Ms Hasler said the sculpted shape of the Easter percher hat complemented the Princess’s face “without the drama of an oversized brim”, and suggested the oak leaf motif carried personal meaning as a nod to the Middleton family coat of arms. She also pointed to a cobalt satin hat worn for the 2023 National Service of Thanksgiving and dedication for the Coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla at St Giles’ Cathedral, as well as a deep red hat worn for a Commonwealth service, as examples of Kate’s ability to make a “sophisticated statement” through colour and texture.
The focus on accessories comes as the Princess continues to return to public life in carefully managed steps, following a period away from duties, including the recent overseas engagement in which her Italy visit was seen as a ‘back in business’ signal as she resumed royal travel.
Royal watchers will now be looking to summer fixtures such as Royal Ascot and other seasonal events to see which designers and silhouettes Catherine chooses next, with stylists noting that her headwear often provides the finishing touch that defines an entire outfit.
