Prince William rumours resurface after Spectator line
Prince William has become a trending topic again after a new royal column in the UK referenced an “odd salacious rumour” about the Prince of Wales and life in Norfolk, prompting renewed online speculation about his marriage to Catherine, Princess of Wales.
In a piece published on Thursday, CafeMom reported that The Spectator noted the couple’s largely positive press “bar the odd salacious rumour about what William gets up to in Norfolk,” alongside ongoing commentary about Catherine’s weight and appearance.
The article said the line has been interpreted by royal watchers as a reference to long-running claims linking Prince William to Rose Hanbury, an aristocrat who lives near the Wales family’s Norfolk base. CafeMom also noted previous reporting dating back to 2019 that alleged a falling out between Catherine and Ms Hanbury, and said both Kensington Palace and lawyers for Ms Hanbury have previously denied wrongdoing and indicated the claims are false.
While social media posts have revived discussion of the rumours, the Waleses have not commented publicly, and there has been no new evidence presented in relation to the allegations. The latest round of speculation comes amid persistent scrutiny of the couple’s public image and the way royal narratives spread online, a dynamic that has also featured in recent claims about Catherine’s private stance on family tensions.
The Palace has historically avoided engaging with personal gossip, but previous warnings about potential legal action have underscored the sensitivity around unverified claims involving senior royals.
