Prince William Keeps Distance From Prince Harry
Prince William is reportedly maintaining strict boundaries with Prince Harry, with new claims suggesting the brothers remain out of contact and a reunion is not being actively pursued. The latest update adds to ongoing scrutiny of the relationship between the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Sussex, which has been strained for years.
An insider said there “hasn’t been any communication” and that Prince William is “not pushing for a reunion” in the near future, Sky News Australia reported, citing comments attributed to a royal source who spoke to Us Weekly.
The report says tensions have been fuelled by frustration inside the Palace over the Sussexes’ public profile and media activity, with the insider describing a “quasi-royal vibe” around overseas trips and claiming that using royal status for commercial gain has become “intolerable”. The source was also quoted as saying the pattern has been “steps forward then steps back” when it comes to repairing the relationship.
In related reporting about the ongoing family divide, Britpop News has previously covered claims that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s paid tours have reportedly deepened the royal rift, with similar concerns raised about how such appearances are perceived by senior royals.
The Sky News Australia piece also referenced comments from royal biographer Mr Tom Bower, who suggested the Sussexes’ titles could be revised in the future, while noting the brothers were last seen together publicly at a family funeral in August 2024 where they were reported to have kept their distance.
