Britney Spears ‘Feeling Positive’ After Rehab
Britney Spears has returned home after a recent rehab stay, with a source describing the singer as optimistic and focused on moving forward in the wake of a DUI case. The update comes after the 44-year-old pop star completed treatment on Wednesday night, according to reporting in the US.
Spears is “healthy and happy and feeling very positive and excited to start afresh,” Page Six reported, citing an insider who said rehab helped her “ground herself”.
The report said Spears plans to continue counselling remotely. It also states she checked herself into rehab for substance abuse on 12 April after she was believed to have been under the influence of alcohol and drugs at the time of her arrest, and that officers allegedly found an unknown substance in her car.
Her rehab stay follows earlier reporting about claims that treatment could affect the outcome of her DUI proceedings, as legal steps continue in the US.
According to Page Six, Spears has been charged with a misdemeanour count of driving while under the influence of alcohol and drugs, with an arraignment date set for 4 May. The publication reported she is not required to appear in court because it is a misdemeanour, and that a conviction could carry probation alongside potential fines and a DUI class.
