Meghan Markle’s As Ever Mother’s Day Sets Spark Price Row
Meghan Markle’s latest As Ever product drop, timed for Mother’s Day in the United States, has drawn fresh scrutiny over its pricing and branding as the Duchess of Sussex continues to build out her lifestyle range. The new collection includes bundled sets featuring candles, teas and sweet treats, presented as curated gifts and described as inspired by Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
In an opinion piece, Express highlighted the cost of several bundles, including “The Sweetest Mom Set” priced at $135 (about £108), which it said includes honey, sprinkles, chocolates and preserves packaged in the brand’s neutral aesthetic.
The same article cited other prices across the range, including a “Signature Chocolate Box” at $58 (around £46) and “Mother’s Day Tea for Two” at $148 (roughly £118). It also referenced a larger “Complete As Ever Pantry”, listed at $347 (around £276) and reduced to $295 (roughly £235), while arguing that the items are everyday pantry staples sold at a premium for branding and presentation.
The comparisons have also landed amid wider attention on As Ever’s candle products, after previous reports that the brand faced backlash over candle names, adding to debate around how the Duchess positions the range alongside her public profile.
The Express piece also noted that the release follows Prince Harry and Meghan’s recent trip to Australia, suggesting the product launch arrived shortly after a period of heightened public visibility. The Duchess’s latest drop is expected to remain a talking point as As Ever expands its offerings and faces ongoing questions about value, marketing and the use of royal associations.
