Kate Middleton Rewore Bold Print Weeks After Birth
Kate Middleton stepped back into public view just a month after giving birth to Princess Charlotte in 2015, choosing a striking floral look for Trooping the Colour that a stylist says was a deliberate move away from “safe” postpartum dressing. The Princess of Wales, now 44, attended the annual parade as a mother of two, appearing alongside other members of the Royal Family on the Buckingham Palace balcony.
At the event, Hello Magazine reported that she wore a pale blue floral Catherine Walker coat dress featuring an understated Peter Pan collar, front buttons and three-quarter-length sleeves, paired with a percher hat from Lock & Co.
Stylist Ms Angela Kyte told the publication the choice appeared intentional, arguing that leaning into “a bold, structured print” projected confidence while still feeling “gentle and considered” rather than severe. She also said the garment’s defined shoulders and clean lines helped “anchor” the look, describing it as a “masterclass” in balancing print with tailoring.
In the years that followed, Kate’s public appearances continued to draw attention for their small styling signals, including a recent moment when she appeared with a thumb plaster during a palace engagement as photographers noted the detail.
Hello Magazine added that the 2015 outfit marked the last time Kate wore a printed dress to Trooping the Colour, with subsequent appearances leaning towards block colours including cream, pink, mint, lemon, white, emerald and turquoise.
