Prince Harry Speaks at DC Privacy Summit
Prince Harry appeared in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday as it emerged he will not be in the US capital next month when King Charles and Queen Camilla undertake their state visit. The Duke of Sussex’s outing came amid renewed attention on his relationship with his father, with royal-watchers closely tracking whether the pair might meet during the King’s trip.
At the International Association of Privacy Professionals’ Global Summit, Prince Harry delivered remarks during the closing general session and later joined a discussion with the group’s director of research and insights, Joe Jones, Hello Magazine reported.
The publication said a source close to the California-based Duke confirmed he would not travel to Washington for a reunion in April, despite the King’s planned visit to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence. Prince Harry and King Charles last saw each other in September for private tea at Clarence House during the Duke’s trip to the UK, the report added.
The update follows recent reporting about the Duke’s wider efforts to restore contact with the royal household, including claims that he has been considering a UK visit involving family time with the King later this year.
Prince Harry is also expected to travel again in mid-April with Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, for engagements in Australia, according to a spokesperson cited in the report. The latest developments underline how any potential father-and-son meeting continues to be shaped by diary logistics as well as the broader strains in their relationship.
