Prince Andrew and Harry had awkward coronation arrival
Prince Andrew and Prince Harry were described as having an awkward encounter as they arrived together at Westminster Abbey for King Charles’s coronation in 2023, amid tensions linked to a proposed move involving Frogmore Cottage.
In an extract referenced by Hello Magazine, royal author Mr Tom Bower wrote that Prince Harry arrived “in the driving rain” with Prince Andrew while the King’s brother was still refusing an order to move from Royal Lodge to Frogmore Cottage.
The account, from Mr Bower’s book Betrayal: Power, Deceit And The Fight For The Future Of The Royal Family, says the offer of Frogmore Cottage was made by King Charles as an alternative to Royal Lodge, the large Windsor property where Prince Andrew lived with Sarah Ferguson.
Mr Bower also claimed relations between the uncle and nephew “were not good”, adding that in some accounts Prince Andrew had dismissed the Duchess of Sussex as an “opportunist” — a detail previously covered in our report that Prince Andrew allegedly called Meghan Markle an ‘Opportunist’.
The report revisits the wider debate over royal residences and responsibilities, with Frogmore Cottage remaining closely associated with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex following their time living there after their 2018 wedding.
