Tom Bower Says Sussexes Face Crossroads
Royal biographer Tom Bower has claimed Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are at an “unfortunate crossroads” as questions continue around the couple’s next steps in Hollywood following the end of their Netflix contract.
Speaking on TalkTV, Express reported that Mr Bower said Meghan’s ambitions were “at odds” with what the Duke of Sussex wants, and alleged she “can’t earn any money anymore” and “needs to find a new way for the rest of her life,” referring to a possible trip to Australia.
Mr Bower also told host Mr Mark Dolan that Prince Harry has “all the money he needed” and “all the fame he needed,” and suggested the Duke may feel frustration over what he described as “diminishing status” in California and a lack of status in Britain.
In comments that follow scrutiny of the Sussexes’ media projects, Mr Bower said Harry could return to the UK and be “embraced by the royal family”, as the couple navigate the fallout from their commercial arrangements, including Meghan Markle’s As Ever going independent after the Netflix split.
Addressing the couple’s relationship directly, Mr Bower said: “In my view, the marriage is ok,” adding that Prince Harry “always needed and loved Meghan” and describing their union as “a marriage made in heaven for him.” Neither the Duke nor Duchess of Sussex responded to the claims in the TV discussion.
