Harry and Meghan Deny Variety Meeting Claims
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have rejected new allegations about how they conduct themselves in professional meetings, after a US entertainment trade report examined their working relationship with Netflix and recent business changes connected to the Duchess of Sussex.
In the piece, sources claimed Meghan “talks over or recast Prince Harry’s thoughts” during meetings and that she could “disappear” from Zoom calls if offended, but Hello Magazine reported that the couple’s attorney, Mr Michael J. Kump, dismissed the suggestion as a “misogynistic characterization” while Prince Harry described the claim as “categorically false”.
The report also included an alleged insider remark suggesting Netflix staff felt “We’re done,” though the streaming company denied that it has a strained relationship with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Mr Kump added that switching off audio or video during long virtual calls is common and said Meghan works from home while raising the couple’s children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
The latest pushback follows earlier instances in which the Sussexes publicly challenged criticism, including when they hit back at author Tom Bower over what they called “deranged conspiracy” claims.
Prince Harry and Meghan signed a major Netflix deal after stepping back as senior working royals in 2020, with projects including their Harry & Meghan docuseries and other titles released in subsequent years, while their arrangements with the platform have evolved from exclusive access to a first-look approach.
