Report Claims Prince Harry Feels Isolated in Montecito
Prince Harry has been described as “adrift and isolated” in California, according to a new report about the Duke of Sussex’s life in Montecito six years after he and Meghan Markle stepped back from royal duties and moved to the United States.
Wonderwall reported that sources speaking to WSJ. Magazine said some people who have spent time with Prince Harry in recent months found him “adrift and isolated,” as Meghan “chases new pursuits” while he passes time in their hometown.
The report also said WSJ. Magazine described some of the Sussexes’ recent business ventures as struggling, with Hollywood production deals “drying up,” and claimed their nonprofit arm laid off much of its staff shortly before Christmas 2025. It added that staff at the Archewell Foundation were “blindsided” by being told it would be shut down in its current form, with the couple reportedly planning to narrow their philanthropic work to grant-giving.
The picture of the couple pursuing more separate professional paths comes as Meghan has continued work on her lifestyle brand, following the end of her partnership with Netflix over the As Ever brand, while the Duke was said to be considering longer-term plans for a business venture of his own.
WSJ. Magazine also noted that Prince Harry continues work linked to the Invictus Games, and the report said he spends much of his time at home with his family, while socialising locally and taking occasional paid speaking engagements.
