Princess Kate Calls Prince William ‘Very Smart’
Princess Kate publicly praised Prince William during a joint engagement in Wales, with the moment caught on video as the couple met a Welsh learners group ahead of St David’s Day.
During the February 26 visit to Powys, People reported that the Princess of Wales agreed with a comment about her husband’s language skills and said: “Yes. I know. He’s very smart,” as Prince William looked bashful.
The report said the Prince and Princess of Wales sat down with a local group at the Gallery Café, where Princess Kate also joked: “So you’re going to test us on our Welsh?” The outing formed part of their trip in the run-up to the Welsh national holiday on March 1, with the couple continuing efforts to connect with communities across Wales.
The light-hearted exchange comes as the Prince and Princess of Wales increasingly incorporate Welsh into their public messaging, with Britpop News previously noting how Princess Kate made history in a surprise royal message marking St David’s Day.
Kensington Palace has shared Welsh-language greetings in recent years, and the couple’s latest visit again underlined their focus on strengthening ties with Wales through regular engagements and cultural outreach.
