Prince Harry Writes Recovery Note in Jordan Visit
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continued their visit to Jordan on Thursday, meeting humanitarian teams and health professionals during the second day of a trip focused on relief work and mental health support. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were seen at a logistics hub in Amman coordinating food assistance for Gaza, before later visiting a treatment facility where they left messages for patients in recovery.
At the World Central Kitchen logistics hub in Amman, Hello Magazine reported that staff briefed the couple on mobile bakeries being deployed across the region to produce hundreds of thousands of loaves of bread each day for displaced communities.
The Sussexes also took part in a video call with a distribution leader at one of the organisation’s field kitchens in Gaza, and were told about the daily challenges of getting supplies into the area. According to the report, Wadhah Hubaishi, response director for the Middle East and North Africa, said the operation needed “20 trucks (of supplies) every day from Egypt” and warned that insufficient deliveries affected their work.
Later, the couple visited the National Centre for Rehabilitation of Addicts (NCRA), which operates under Jordan’s Ministry of Health and provides residential and outpatient treatment. Prince Harry wrote a note of encouragement for patients that read: “It’s ok not to be ok. Trust each other. Congratulations on your recovery. Now share your courage and experience.” This follows earlier BritpopNews reporting on the Sussexes joining the WHO chief during the same Jordan trip.
The engagements underlined the couple’s emphasis on humanitarian relief and mental health, with their Jordan itinerary expected to include further meetings with Jordanian leaders and senior health officials as the visit continues.
