Kim Kardashian addresses Sussex photo removal as Meghan Markle ‘photogate’ row reignites online
Kim Kardashian has spoken publicly about why photos featuring the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were removed from social media, prompting a fresh wave of online commentary about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s appearance at a Hollywood birthday party.
On the Khloe in Wonderland podcast, Express reported that Ms Kardashian said her family had been told it was acceptable to post the pictures, before they were later asked to take them down after it was realised the images coincided with Remembrance Day.
According to her account, Ms Kardashian said her family does not post photos without permission and described the shared images as “fun photos and so dignified photos”. She also suggested the decision to remove them was taken to be respectful, after concerns about “partying and dancing on the dance floor” optics.
The comments come amid continuing scrutiny of the Sussexes’ Hollywood appearances, including Kim Kardashian explaining why Harry and Meghan party snaps were deleted as the story continues to circulate on social media.
The episode has again highlighted the sensitivity around the couple’s public image during major UK commemorations, and it remains a talking point for royal watchers and celebrity audiences on both sides of the Atlantic.
