Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, may risk losing their royal titles if they continue speaking out against the British royal family, according to a recent report. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back from their public roles in 2020 and moved to the United States, where they have made a series of shocking claims about the royal family. Now, it is suggested that there are plans to revoke Harry and Meghan’s titles as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex via Yahoo.
A new report has suggested that Prince William may not hesitate to strip Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of their royal title when he takes the crown in the future.
RadarOnline reported that the Prince of Wales is still angered by his brother and his wife’s public criticism of The Firm. A courtier told the outlet that King Charles was “especially stung by Harry labeling him an emotionally cold father” in his memoir, “Spare.”
However, the courtier has continued that despite “all the hurt” that Harry “caused,” Charles never took away his Sussex title. This is because he is reportedly “concerned” about the “backlash.” The late Queen Elizabeth II bestowed royal titles on Harry and Meghan on their wedding day in 2018. The couple stepped from their public roles in 2020. However, Harry and Meghan are seemingly holding onto their titles.
The most recent occurrence was on the 43-year-old’s Netflix show, “With Love, Meghan.” While talking to her guest, Mindy Kaling, she said, “It’s so funny you keep saying Meghan Markle.”
She added, “You know I’m ‘Sussex’ now.” The RadarOnline insider claimed the royals are “absolutely furious” over Meghan continuing to “flaunt the Sussex title for her and Harry’s own self-gain.”
Meanwhile, William has no concerns over revoking Harry and Meghan’s titles. The insider alleged that the royals have “quietly sanctioned the title removal.” This would reportedly happen “if Harry and Meghan step out of line again.” The insider even claimed that the palace “already called several secret meetings.” It has been reportedly done to “discuss the possibility and put an actionable plan in place.”
