Larki18 recapped on Reddit, “Off the top of my head, mini highlights:
New album is finished, in the final mastering process now. No release date beyond 2021 and probably later than the originally planned “early summer”, the vinyl is the hold-ups as there’s a logjam where everyone who delayed their albums due to COVID is trying to get their albums out on vinyl.
Brandon has been thinking about doing an acoustic piano version of Dying Breed, with strings
Brandon’s top Depeche Mode albums are Ultra, Violator and Songs of Faith and Devotion
Sounds like TK7 will be experimental, Ronnie says it will be ‘different.’ Brandon says there’s not much synth compared to ITM and what is there is more ‘sonic.’ Reiterated from previous interviews that it is not at all connected to the WW/ITM story, it’s independent.”
“Piano Dying Breed has been my greatest wish ever since we heard it, and since we got this little snippet from their soundcheck in Rogers, Arkansas back in 2019. So, so gutwrenchingly beautiful – and those lyrics are some of his most powerful, his most romantic.
It begs for an acoustic rendition, and would be their first ever perfect wedding song. If it’s even half as gorgeous and moving as Blowback, we’re in for a treat if they do follow through on that plan.”
