It has been a staggering seven years since 1980’s UK smash hit band, The Cure toured the Northern United States. However, it has been announced that the band will be making a comeback to US shores this year.
As per Ultimate Guitar, The Cure has announced their first North American tour since the year of our Lord, 2016. The goth rock band are making their way across the pond in late Spring for a run titled “Shows of a Lost World”.
The trek is scheduled to start on May 10 with a gig at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, and will wrap up on July 1 at the Miami-Dade Arena in Miami, Florida.
Supporting The Cure will be The Twilight Sad, who are promoting their latest album, 2019’s “It Won’t Be Like This All The Time”, while the veteran rockers are expected to drop the follow-up to 2008’s “4:13 Dream” later this year.
Tickets will be on sale next Wednesday, March 15, via a Ticketmaster Verified Fan Sale with required registration, in an effort to dissuade scalpers. The band said of the effort:
“We have priced tickets to benefit fans and our efforts to block scalpers and limited inflated resale prices are being supported by our ticketing partners.”
