Prince Harry is contacting Penguin Random House to change the details about his family after The Queen’s passing. It looks like Harry wants to rewrite certain things, now that The Queen is gone and his father King Charles has taken the throne.
Harry’s efforts are in vain as the publishing house is in no mood to change things and has already sent out things for processing. The publishing house wants the book to be on the shelves by Thanksgiving, November 24. Harry is one of those that was in the explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey.
The interview stirred things up and brought to light various aspects of life from The Royal Family that were usually hidden. It needs to be seen if this effort by Harry has anything to do with what transpired in the Royal Family after The Queen breathed her last. A source close to the situation added:
The publishers paid $20 million upfront because they knew whatever was written would be huge for sales and exposure all around the world. But the first draft they received was disappointing as it was a bit too emotional and focused far more on mental health issues than they wanted. Eventually, the final draft has been finished and signed off and a lot of money and energy has been spent to make sure it comes out this year.
But Harry has thrown a spanner in the works as he is desperate to get it refined in the light of the Queen’s death, her funeral and his father Charles taking the throne. There may be things which might not look so good if they come out so soon after the Queen’s death and his dad becoming King. He wants sections changed. It’s not a total rewrite by any means. He desperately wants to make changes. But it might be too late.
Life can be extremely painful, especially, if you have a situation where you have to keep the family intact and also ensure that the 35 Million Deal is not gone off. Harry and Markel are trying to save the damage, but the damage may have been done already.
If the damage is already done then there’s a lot that goes into making things worth the time. One can only wait and see if they issue an apology on things mentioned and get away with it or if things will come back to haunt them in the days to come.
