Harry Styles has just been seen in a polaroid photo taken on set of ‘Don’t Worry Darling’. In the photo, Harry is seen smirking at the camera with Florence Pugh as the film continues to receive tons of positive reviews.
It should be noted that in the photo – Harry’s hair looked great, but that is actually not what the team on set wanted for the star in the film at all.
In the movie, his character, Jack, undergoes an ugly makeunder, which really was an issue for the stylists who worked on the set and posed a really huge problem for the hair department head lead, Jaime Leigh McIntosh.
Via PageSix – when asked about what the original goal was for Harry’s hair, she stated: “I wanted to make it lank and more lifeless. I f–king couldn’t. Harry’s hair is just so full of volume.”
When even a flat iron failed to make Styles’ strands look less than their best, McIntosh resorted to having a “long and scraggly” wig made, which would hopefully give the illusion that his hair was in rough shape. Thankfully for all involved in the movie, this did work and it worked very well.
Harry Styles’ shocking transformation — which also included acne scarring created using special effects makeup — took McIntosh and makeup head Heba Thorisdottir two hours to achieve in order to make the movie what it was. It all went over very well. With Harry being new to all of this in terms of the film industry, it was a much different feeling for him in the makeup chair to have to go through day in and day out.
McIntosh would then close out her statement by saying that: “It was about finding that balance and a fine line of pushing him in a different direction, but not so far.”
