It’s been a hot minute since we had some huge news on The Weeknd, but it looks like we just got a huge surprise. The Weeknd appears to have been hinting at making a surprise appearance at Coachella this weekend (ha, funny, right?)
The Hitmaker tweeted out a desert emoji earlier this week followed by a cryptic post asking fans: “Where will you find me?” He added more fuel to the fire by retweeting a tweet from a fan account claiming: “THE WEEKND WILL PERFORM AT COACHELLA THIS YEAR.”
While it doesn’t seem like he will have his own set, he could be joining someone’s set in order to make a big appearance. While it’s of course possible that he is a surprise set, I think it makes a ton of sense for him to show up either with or around Bad Bunny. Bad Bunny is a huge star that everyone wants to attach themselves to and The Weeknd recently just broke the record for most popular artist on the planet. It feels like the two could pull it off together.
Personally, a surprise set would be awesome, but I feel like coming out during a Bad Bunny set, on the last song, would set the world on fire at Coachella. Just imagine the scenery there for this and how cinematic it would be.
Checking out the list for who will be at Coachella, it feels like there are other possibilities too where we could find him. Frank Ocean could be a possibility, but I don’t see it. I feel the same way about the only other artist I think fits and that’s Metro Boomin. If anything, It’s got to be Bad Bunny.
