Taylor Swift has sung about her fiancé, Travis Kelce, before but never as directly as she does on “Wood,” a track from The Life of a Showgirl.

Taking inspiration from the playful and cheeky style of Sabrina Carpenter, Swift reflects on her unlucky experiences with love before meeting Kelce, cleverly tying in references to his podcast New Heights. The song is one of her boldest yet, with lyrics that fans have already connected to Kelce in unmistakable ways.

At the Official Release Party of a Showgirl film, Swift played coy when asked about the inspiration behind the song, joking that it was about “superstitions” like black cats and sidewalk cracks. Her knowing smile, however, made the audience laugh and fueled even more speculation.

While Swift has kept details of her private life with Kelce out of the spotlight, she’s been open about their relationship. In an interview on New Heights, she described how Kelce showed her he was “the good kind of crazy” when they first connected. She praised his humor, kindness, and natural way of making people feel brighter, calling him a “human exclamation point” who lifts up everyone around him.

“I knew that he wasn’t crazy the first couple of times that we talked,” she said. “I was just like, he’s truly getting to know me in a way that’s very natural, very pure, very normal. Also, just the way that he could make me laugh so immediately about normal things… Travis is like, he’s just a vibe-booster in everyone’s life that he’s in. He’s like a human exclamation point. He’s like when you take a picture on your phone and you push the enhanced color button, that’s like what you do to everyone’s life. I’ve used so many more exclamation points now, but I think it was just like…you’re so non-judgmental about people.”
