Taylor Swift’s dad, Scott Swift, reportedly told Justin Baldoni’s team that Blake Lively had threatened to leak private texts between her and Taylor if Taylor didn’t publicly support her during a fight with her It Ends With Us co-star. According to the Daily Mail, Scott shared this to help get a subpoena against Taylor dropped, so she wouldn’t be pulled deeper into the legal battle.
Justin Baldoni’s lawyer said Blake’s legal team pressured Taylor’s lawyers to make a public statement of support for Blake, suggesting that private messages could be leaked if she didn’t. Blake also reportedly asked Taylor to delete their messages.
Although these claims were included in legal documents, the judge later said they couldn’t be used in court because they weren’t relevant or appropriate. After that, Baldoni’s team dropped the subpoena for Taylor.
Blake Lively’s lawyer denied everything, calling the claims false and based on anonymous sources. However, another source said it looked like Blake’s team was trying to pressure Taylor to support her by threatening to release private information.
Taylor’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, even unfollowed Blake’s husband, Ryan Reynolds, on Instagram—likely because of the drama.
Taylor’s team made it clear that she had nothing to do with the movie. She wasn’t involved in the casting, didn’t help with the script, and didn’t even watch it until after it came out. At the time, she was busy touring around the world.
