He said three key moments hurt his chances: his 2005 “George Bush doesn’t care about Black people” comment, his interruption of Swift at the VMAs, and wearing a MAGA hat.
Swift’s name being mentioned led to a wave of backlash. But things got worse when West later made sexually explicit claims about Swift and linked her to other male celebrities. According to The Daily Mail, the statements were considered so damaging that Swift’s legal team sent him a cease and desist letter.
A source close to Swift said this time, West went too far, describing his statements as false, harmful, and defamatory. They said Swift has had enough and believes legal action is now necessary after years of staying quiet.
So far, West hasn’t responded publicly to the legal move, and it’s unclear whether he’ll speak out or back down.
